Snieżnik

Training and practicing system Śnieżnik is a stationary device designed to teach, monitor and evaluate the targeting of small arms and prepare soldiers for: firing the live ammunition at open ranges for combat targets and silhouettes; detection, classification and engagement of real targets at different terrain (urban, open field), weather (fog, snow, rain etc.) and parts of day; the team work as a squad during the mission by using different types of arms; suitable reactions in untypical scenarios. Śnieżnik is a modern facility enabling training of shooters while using normal service small arms or personal weapons (previously deprived of combat features and equipped with appropriate devices) without using the real ammunition.

Features

Snieznik allows conducting simulated shooting at virtual targets displayed on the large size, panoramic screen. The system features module construction following which it is possible to design on its basis many various training stations. Typical installation includes 10 stations for shooters. Additionally, it is possible to combine together the Śnieżnik type systems (platoon or company structure) as well as with other simulators (TH-1, Puchacz, Goworek or other which are equipped with compatible communication protocol) making up the Comprehensive Battlefield Simulator (Spartan).

Snieżnik is a complete solution delivered by us, equipment that we deliver depends on customer needs, and includes for example:

  • dedicated furniture,
  • grips,
  • devices,
  • PC's with our software,
  • projectors, LCD screens,

Weapon simulator

  • appearance (dimensions and weight), construction and handling are identical as in real firearms
  • high level of operating realism achieved by appropriate simulating of weapon functionality
  • wireless communication with the system
  • pneumatic overload system
  • built-in tilt sensor and pressure sensor
  • leading the simulated fire with maintaining ballistic curves (same as real)

Computer controller

  • single assembly rack
  • operator's module used for conducting and control of training
  • visualisation module generating realistic high-resolution 3D images of battlefield
  • audio module providing realistic presentation of acoustic environment
  • radio communication with the weapon

Functionalities

Snieżnik can be fully operated from the operator station. Here, there is the application enabling system configuration, creation, modification and starting shooting exercises as well as the control of the system operation. The software makes available the map which displays the overview of the current situation and allows it to be changed (also when the exercise is actually running)

System allows to prepare soldiers for:

  • firing the live ammunition at open ranges for combat targets and silhouettes;
  • detection, classification and engagement of real targets at different terrain (urban, open field), weather (fog, snow, rain etc.) and parts of day;
  • the team work as a squad during the mission by using different types of arms;
  • suitable reactions in untypical scenarios.

High virtual reality of this process is achieved due to simulation of the following:

  • the projection system that generates realistic 3D imaging of the battlefield (such as combat shooting range) in high-resolution
  • sound system which delivers realistic mapping of acoustic surroundings
  • functioning of weapons – sound of shooting of high volume, movement of mechanisms during reloading, real action of fire type switches, safety catches as well as mechanical and optical gunsights
